Texas Temporary COVID-19 Rate Increases have been extended to January 2021

In June 2020, Texas Health and Human Services approved a temporary rate increase of $19.63 per day for Medicaid residents in Texas nursing facilities.

On Saturday, October 3rd, Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Azar renewed the Public Health Emergency (PHE) set to expire on October 23rd. The new declaration takes effect on October 23rd and maintains the Public Health Emergency for another 90 days.

On Tuesday, October 6th, Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) confirmed that the temporary rate add-on would be extended thru the extension of the PHE.
