As a Reimbursement Consulting Manager you will focus in our healthcare industry, specifically on cost reporting for the skilled nursing and home health and hospice niche areas.  The responsibilities of this position include:


  • Be assigned client responsibility
  • Review of both Skilled Nursing and Home Health and Hospice Medicare and Medicaid Cost Reports for clients nationwide
  • Medicare and Medicaid Reimbursement Optimization Consulting
  • Perform any special projects as needed by clients operationally
  • Proficient in State “Facility Specific Reimbursement” Medicaid Programs for Skilled Nursing (more specifically, knowledge of CA, TX, MO a plus)
  • Proficient in PDGM and PDPM Methodology
  • Support Medicaid/Medicare audit process to including gathering and reviewing audit documents and answering auditor’s questions
  • Support Medicaid/Medicare appeals including proactively following-up with clients about Rate Setting Audit Reports issued, submitting appeals, researching and compiling documents needed for hearing, and attending and leading formal and informal appeal hearings
  • Writing of Quarterly Newsletters and Client Alerts (as needed)
  • Become proficient in MP cost report process / steps budgeted times, manage cost report production and margins and meet production goals
  • Work within a group setting and assist team members when available
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external clients
  • Association Involvement:
    • Reimbursement/Finance Committees
    • Speaking Events
    • Trades shows (as needed)
    • Increase business with existing clients and market to prospective clients


  • Minimum of 5 years of skilled nursing cost reporting, reimbursement and audit/appeal knowledge
  • Knowledge of Home Health and Hospice cost reporting requirements and reimbursement
  • Knowledge of reimbursement systems in California, Texas, Missouri a plus
  • Bookkeeping/Accounting background is an advantage
  • Client relationship development experience required along with the ability to actively maintain those relationships by providing optimum client service.
  • Competent knowledge of computer software programs with special emphasis on MS Excel spreadsheets, MS Outlook, HFS Software, Winlash, and MS Word
  • Strong analytical, research, organization, and written/verbal communication skills
  • Team-oriented but also a self-starter able to work independently
  • Ability to coordinate diverse tasks simultaneously within stringent time frames
  • Must be detail-oriented
  • Quick learner and open to new ideas
  • Have a positive attitude
  • Willing and able to travel if asked including periodic overnight travel for out of town engagements
