For all Healthcare Providers who received Health and Human Services (HHS) stimulus money, the Terms and Conditions indicated a quarterly reporting requirement to begin this month of July. To date, HHS has not released any updates regarding reporting requirements or a portal to report.
HHS has posted, “recipients of Provider Relief Fund payments do not need to submit a separate quarterly report to HHS or the Pandemic Response Accountability Committee. HHS will develop a report containing all information necessary for recipients of Provider Relief Fund payments to comply with this provision.”
Many of you recently received an email from HHS if you have not yet “attested” for the general fund distribution monies received. This is HHS’ attempt to collect all data and provider information to account for the funds distributed. Please pay close attention to email alerts from HHS and follow appropriate guidance.
“For all providers who attest to receiving a Provider Relief Fund payment and agree to the Terms and Conditions (or retain such a payment for more than 90 days), HHS is posting the names of payment recipients and their payment amounts on its public website Tracking Accountability in Government Grants System (TAGGS). HHS is also working with the Department of Treasury to reflect the aggregate total of each recipient’s attested to Provider Relief Fund payments on USAspending.gov.”
Note there will definitely be a reporting requirement to show support for the expenses and lost revenue incurred that support the stimulus money received. Only time will tell what these requirements will be.
HHS also released they will have, “significant anti-fraud monitoring of the funds distributed, and the Office of Inspector General will provide oversight as required in the CARES Act to ensure that Federal dollars are used appropriately.”
Mueller Prost is monitoring the HHS website daily to keep you posted with live updates. Once we know more about reporting and audit requirements, we will be issuing formal guidance and support to assist you with proper reporting.
